Rick Jones to Assume Role of President and CEO

AUSTIN, Texas – Lone Star Overnight, a Texas-based regional overnight package delivery company, announced that Ed DiSalvo has made the decision to retire from his role as President and CEO. He will be succeeded by Rick Jones, who is currently the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
 DiSalvo, a 36-year veteran of the transportation and logistics industry, assumed the top post at Lone Star Overnight in 2007 and oversaw the company’s service territory expansion that began in 2008.

For nearly 20 years, Lone Star Overnight (LSO) has provided superior regional small-package express and ground shipping at rates significantly lower than those of national carriers. In order to maintain this pricing advantage for all of your shipments, we will be implementing the following minor rate adjustments effective June 1, 2010:

  • LSO will institute an 85-cent rural delivery area surcharge for both Priority and Ground shipments to reflect the higher cost of providing service to and from less populated areas. This nominal fee will only apply to deliveries to approximately 800 ZIP codes in remotely populated areas in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. In addition to being about half of the amount assessed by our national competitors, we will only apply this surcharge to roughly 60% of the ZIPs that national carriers currently assess.
  • Automated package labels help us to enhance shipment accuracy and speed delivery. They also eliminate the need for our employees to manually enter package information – which, in turn, enables us to continue to keep our prices lower than the competition. That’s why we will also implement a 30-cent charge for shipments with non-automated package labels. If you are currently using manual labels, you can easily create and print automated package labels free of charge via our online Webship service at www.LSO.com.
  • Also effective June 1, Signature Service upon delivery will only be available via automated labels.

While most national small-package ground carriers require a 200-pound minimum for their multi-package pricing, LSO’s Multi-Pak option will be available for shipments weighing just 100 pounds or more. Nexxio to Develop Lone Star Overnight Shipping Compliance

Small Parcel Shippers Can Now Automate Processing Lone Star Overnight Shipments

DALLAS — May 20, 2008 — Today Nexxio and Lone Star Overnight announced they have entered into an agreement, whereby Nexxio will develop a certified Lone Star Overnight module for its NexxShip multi-carrier shipping software. This module will allow small parcel shippers in Texas, Oklahoma, western Louisiana, and eastern New Mexico to rate, route, and print shipping labels for packages tendered to Lone Star Overnight, as well as electronically communicate with the Austin-based regional package delivery company.

Carrier to Complete Aggressive Territory Expansion by End of 2008
