LSO / Lone Star Overnight Increases Rates Effective January 1, 2019
New rates are up to 41% less than FedEx Express and less expensive than both FedEx and UPS Ground services
AUSTIN, Texas — November 30, 2018 — LSO / Lone Star Overnight, the South’s leading regional parcel carrier, today announced a rate increase effective January 1, 2019. It applies to both Express and Ground, and reflects increases in operating and labor costs. This follows the rate increase announcement from FedEx and the anticipated announcement from UPS.
“While both FedEx and UPS raised their Express rates in 2018, we did not. We’ve held the line all year,” said Richard Metzler, President and CEO of LSO/Lone Star Overnight. “The reality is that driver and truck-related costs are going up throughout the transportation industry. However, based on the FedEx November 15th rate announcement, our new rates will be up to 41% less expensive than FedEx Express services.”
