LSO / Lone Star Overnight Announces Annual General Rate Increase (GRI), Effective Jan. 2, 2023

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 30, 2022  -- Lone Star Overnight (LSO™), the leading parcel carrier in the Southwest and Central regions, is announcing a general rate increase (GRI), effective January 2,2023, that will average 6.2% on base rates. This news follows earlier similar rate increase announcements from FedEx and UPS.

Andrew Townsend, Chairman of the Board commented, "Overall, LSO rates will continue to be a better value and less than FedEx and UPS for 2023. Compared to FedEx and UPS, our express, eCommerce, and ground rates are very favorable in comparison to key weights and zones with those other carriers. Shippers should also note that our accessorial fees are very competitive as well, which has a meaningful impact on the total cost to ship. Following LSO's peak surcharge update for e-commerce and ground shipping between Oct. 31, 2022, and Jan. 13, 2023, pricing for each package is appreciably lower than FedEx and UPS, there are no thresholds based on volume and no tiered surcharge levels. The simpler flat-rate surcharge level is based on individual shipping characteristics and volume throughout the year.

Lastly, Townsend said, “a partnership with Lone Star Overnight drives tremendous value to shippers, and we only expect that value to improve in 2023.”
